Well here is my probarly about 10th corsa lol , just got it a week ago , knew the car for a few years , been sitting parked up for past 7 months !! doing nowt , knew it had a few probs needing sorting! didnt think this much but hey ho i like a challenge , so story goes so far picked car up drove it to my house (1.5 mile) was runnin a bit lumpy and cutting out when trying to idle , so parks it in garage idleing ok ish , think hmmm no to bad at least its idling which last owner couldnt get to do . So turns car off starts to have a look about engine , it needs a new rad , stat too look to see if there is any noticable connecters loose disconected etc that would cause idle prob , gets m8 around to have a look too , so we start car up (no probs just now :lol m8 disconnects air flow meter while running , makes no differenace to funny idleing so possible that my prob , m8 gets on phone and arranges one for later that night , so connect the new one on and goes to start and nothing , just keeps cranking over but nowt check for a spark and its getting nowt so just abandoned it for now in garage lol will need to do paper clip test see what faults are throwing up, my m8 reckons it will go with a bump as his last valver corsa did the same here are some crap photos , comments suggestions Help welcome lol

Noticed these were not connected to anything ? any1 ?


Also this is in the position of the std ecu (is this a sxi ecu ? lol ) dont want to chop it out until i know for deffo its not doing nowt plus the xe ecu isnt in the best places above pedals


Old wheels that were on corsa when i got it , there are for sale so i can get some speedlines or softstars






hmmm bit rusty , brakes will be getting ditched for some turbo ones or better and suspenstion might be getting changed for some coilovers too



It must have been one of the very first Sxi's as no rev counter no electric windows etc , only 58k on shell



Is this the sxi ecu ?

I think thats the EPS ECU. On the 1.2 16v the ECU is in the engine bay.

Car check comes up with it as an SXi, but weird with it not having a rev counter. Strange!

Yeah i thought strange too way back when it was for sale about 2-3 years ago but as i say must have been one of the first sxi's .

Mark - no m8 its different , slims old one has gloss black bumpers now , but is still kicking about hamilton im sure.

Forgot to mention it now starts again!! whooo hoo lol , turns out its some dodgy plugs and an air flow , so on hunt for an air flow and going to give it a service!

electronic power steering? didnt feel as though had ps when i was driving but might do as tyres were flat , hmmm where to put xe ecu then?? any ideas anyone??

it is still quite mint m8!!! i believe its still about hamilton now , was a guy from strathaven had it but now in hamilton im sure! still quick too m8!!! whats happenin way ur gsi?

Nice Project.

I'd put money on that it had a rev counter when it came out of the factory. Those clocks much have been put in there.

Cheers , would be a bit pointless imo going to these clocks? lol , will these be cable driven or electronic clocks??

Used to be Dose's from the site from a few years ago! (from up alloa way) was for sale with fox rims on it and had been all keyed (still is lol) my m8's swapped a vts for it , then swapped my other m8 his pulsar for it about a year ago and hasnt turned a wheel since!!

Well went out tonight and spent a few hours tidying up the ecu , wasnt exactly in the best of places above pedals , and the other wee box where ecu is meant to be is now junked didnt seem to make a differance when i started it up so hopefully it wasnt needed also stripped old fucked radiator out aswell , so tommorow hopefully get a few wee bits for it , ach well here is a couple of pics
