i think everyone can admire the hard work and spec of the 106, but from what ive seen and know about the bloke hes 1/4 mad and 60k has only been able to get him 13.8.

for 60k he could have a c6 like this:
http://video.google.co.uk/videoplay?docid=2510898520476958844&q=corvette+c6
http://video.google.co.uk/videoplay?docid=8398662491848474717&q=corvette+c6
and with abit of tuning one like this:

i think i'm entitled to my opinion. i love that 106, i think it's awesome, but £60k!!!! I can't see how that is justifiable. Fair play it's his car and yes it's an amazing 106 but it's not worth £60k. But it is just my opinion. i am sorry for having one.

what you are forgetting is that you arn't the owner, maybe the money is no object to this person etc. Its not your money to spend/waste so there is no point trying to seek justification of it! My bro spends thousands on carbon fiber racing cycles (as in pedal ones) i think he's mad, its just life.

hhmm, i don't know, 200 bhp in one of these things must be scary, 110mph scares the shit out of me in mine, completely different to the seat when i still felt safe at 145mph.

Quote from SBD's website... (1700cc xe)

One of the most impressive car/engine combinations recently tested was the SBDevelopments Westfield 1700cc Vauxhall Ecotec. When Steve Broughton told me he expected in excess of 240 BHP I'd been more than a little sceptical. Contrary to popular belief only a handful of modified 2 Ltr XE engines make this sort of power.

As another example of SBD knowing their product, this amazing engine that revs to over 10,000 RPM produced a clean power run straight away of a healthy 241 BHP and 148 Ft Lbs of Torque. The generally accepted maximum that can be expected from any naturally aspirated engine is between 85 and 95 Ft Lbs of Torque per Litre of engine capacity. At just under 90 Ft Lbs / Ltr this engine is approaching F1 standards of performance.

Sticking to a set of rules laid down by the FIA, Peugeot got around 225bhp from a n/a TU 1584cc (i think) 16v.

Without rules i'm sure you could get more.

cant remember his name but there was a guy on SSC who used to throw stupid amounts of money at his saxo and it was only used as a track car. TB's solid lifters, oil coolers etc etc. Spent stupid amounts of money.

Then George Leake spent a fraction of the money on his daily driver and set quicker times
