yup 1600.
good job i got the manifold and a new cat, the joint flange has litrally turned to dust as i was undo-ing it,

gonna be a bastid to remove the manifold thou, with aircon and power-steering in the way

right so far

removed old manifold, fitted new manifold and fitted new timing belt and running gear

new belt on





old manifold


one of the reasons the manifold was junked


to get new manifold in i had to remove oil filter and front engine to box bolt



and new manifold on

new thermostat, turns out mine has a expensive one and its all one pice woooo



exhaust fitted



subtle as you like fitment on the tailpipe


lambda fitted


new sensors and thermostat "which ended up goin back cos it was the wrong one" so went back and had to get the £30 odd one cos its all built in

day off, so after taking stu's wheels to be worked on, when i got home i fitted my harneses, re-fitted my centre console, cleaned rear 1/4 panels and waxoiled 1 of them

then ran out of waxoil so fitted one of my mhw's

pictures






all the joining seams have been fully waxoiled, the panel itself i just blew over it, it sound deadn's it a bit and resists moisture hence why it isnt a really even thick coat

Harnesses need to be OUTSIDE the metal rods of the headrest, unless you want to be decapitated when you crash?

they will cut into your neck if you do go forward very quick BUT

if there not in the metals, they will just keep falling down the sides of the seats...

kinda a no-win situation to some extent...

My 4 points never slid off the sides, but I had them crossed. 3 points shouldn't slip I wouldn't have thought

My 4 points are either side of the headrest, they slide off now and then, although you should slip them inside the head rest for the MOT.

update on the harneses, i e-mail'd sabelt. as they make the harneses, so they must know the safe'st route

they way i have them is safe

if they were on the outside of the headrest post they would rub and in a stop remove the headrest.

they way i have them now is fine aslong as i have the y metal part that splits them 6 inches or so away from the back of the seat.

todays work entailed, removeing front bumper lights, and arches, and you can see why

tons of soil and grit stuck to it all, sooo wire brushed it all out, hopefully itll be all rustproofed tomorow.



it was dark and foggy but you get the idea

and the front...



i also re-fitted scuttle panel and fillled the coolent only to find i think the fan switch's on the rad are dead as the fan wont come on til about 110

so thats gotta be done aswell

also the morretes and the front bumper are for sale.

right, fitted the front suspension,
cleaned and waxoiled inner arches and unbolted bottom of wing and waxoiled all in there too.

small miracle has happened,

3 aircon centre console later, 2 sets of bulbs, 2 sets of led's and strip and restrip of the dash about 6 to 8 times, i hae finally got all the dash lights on and working

1st console the aircon knob was glued so when i undid it it snapped,

bunch of £ later i had another console, from a guy off here "1.5td" stripped it took the bulbs out fitted green ones, putting aircom knob back in,,,, snapped it BOLLOKS,

3rd console from mylo stripped it, fitted bulbs, put all back together, right hand bulb failed, strip it again, re-fit all working, then left hand bulb fails, then upon removal it explodes bugger.
so using a spare swich from one of the other consoles and a bit of gentle purswaysion i got it all on and back together, and then got the mfd lit up properly aswell

wooooo

essay i know and not major mod but its taken me ages cos of the air con etc

best pic i can get im afraid but im sure you can figure it all out

bit of progress today

fitted rear suspension, fitted headlights, waxoiled rear arch`s,

some pics,,

before lowering the rear, "the front has alredy been done"



old suspension off


comparing the vaux top mount to aftermarket top mount, i decided the same as last time i did my suspension to use the vaux top mount as its fatter and more substansial, ive heard aftermarket topmount knock occasionly, so to prevent this i used the vaux top mount




i wire brushed the inner arch and like the front got half a lawns worth of soil out



all wire brushed down


new suspension in, and waxoiled







and how it sits now




and my new headlight arrived so i fitted them up aswell
