A mate of mine bought this sorry looking gsi a few months ago in the knowlege that i would sort out the completly bodged bodykit and rattle can paint job. I started it on saturday afternoon by taking the body kit off.

to my horror someone had actually tried bridging the gaps between the arches and bumpers with cardboard and attached the bodykit with dodgy wood screws in a very strange way

i then ground off all the old filler and any rust( which there isn't much of as the car is pretty sound) with an angle grinder and then bonded the arches on ready to be smoothed into the body and bumpers

i got two of my workmates to help trim and bond the sill skirts on while i sorted the bonnet and flush tailgate

We then fibreglassed the kit on and bolted the bumpers on with about a million screws so they are totally rigid

We then did the fibre glassing on the bumpers, loads of layers so it hopefully won't crack

then tonight i sanded it all down and shaped it up to slap some filler on there

there is more pics in my garage if you're interested
oh yeah, cheers to ed for letting me make good use of his workshop while he is at uni.

nice work mate, but I got to say its a real shame to see that bodykit being refitted! I think there is alot of molested Gsi's out there that need to be restored to their former glory!

I appreciate that the work you do is good, and you can only work with what you are given, but the way that the front bumper has to be fitted says it all to me, cheap and tacky.

my mate wants this kit on there, each to their own tastes. why does it have to look like another gsi. He's only seventeen and we have all been there
i started out with this nova. modified it when i was sixteen and thought it looked the nuts. Now i know different but it is a learning curve

Nothing shocking about it Kezza, obviously Luigi is comfortable enough with his sexuality to be able to make comment on members of the same sex who he thinks is good looking to members of the opposite sex - I think this subject needs a thread in Off Day - I will start one!
