No problem Bryan, getting the turbo wheels is going to be easy but I'll be keeping the tyres off the softstars.. I'll let you know nearer the time and you can make me an offer.

I take it from ure avater info you own one?? If so could you do me a huge favour and measure the drum for me..(diameter).. Could save me a lot of hassle if there the same diameter as the B.. Obviously I'll need to check bearings etc but itll give me a rough idea.

Cheers

UPDATE

Just phoned my local parts supplier to find out about the rear drums...

Corsa B GSi uses the same brake shoe kit as the 5 stud Corsa C CDTi..

sooo in theory if the bearing inner diameter is the same it'll be a straight swap to make the rear 5 stud??

Can anyone see any other reason why it wouldnt be??

the backplate might be different, but, i'd be willing to bet that its a streaight, bolt on swap.

Dont think the backplate will be different as it uses the same brake shoe kit. Crossing my finers because it will save a lot of hassle if it works..

Just need to work out the best way to do the front now. Been looking at conversion hubs off LMF but there a complete rip off.

Its only the hubs ive got to worry about because after searching mig ive found that early 1.6 vectras had big block outer CV's onto small block shafts..

Getting there slowly.. lol

ignore me, i was being an idiot

i was forgetting that its the drum which is threaded

for the fronts, just get some cav/calibra ones machined to fit, and use the vectra CVs then

Can the cav ones be machined to the right size quite easily?? Shouldnt be a problem finding a set a wouldnt think.

Gonna order a drum this week so I can try it on, take it back if it doesnt fit.. lol

Will have to check on the vectra CV thing too, but plenty threads on Mig about it..

ask the 2litre boys, they'll know for sure if they can be machined.

either that, or machine the knuckle out

Hmmm wouldnt be too keen machining the knuckle tbh, would rather play around with the hub..

I can get a front suspension setup from the scrappies for nothing so I'll get it all built up ready to put on in a weekend..

when looking into conversions for the c, i was told astra mk2/cavvy shafts etc dont fit the c, so surely corsa b shafts wont fit c hubs?

also, its ONLY the 1.7 sri cdti model that is 5 stud, you'll be very lucky to find one in the scrappy.
