well bits are being balanced, however there is a slight issue with the flywheel supplied by sbd, it wont fit on a standard crank or my steel crank, basically there is an offset hole in a standard flywheel, about 1/4 of a hole out, this is so itll fit one way once balanced, the DK crank has the offset hole, the standard flywheel fits it, the new flywheel doesn't have this offset hole, all the holes are evenly spaced! woooo!

so its having a slight modification at the balancers, all will be good! collect bits on monday!

the head is being sorted with the new valves as we speak which is good!

Well, today being sunday i decided to go and make some noise in the garage and wake the lazy neighbours!

first off i tidied the garage and put some new shelves up, which is cool! then i stood back and admired the poly carb windows i had my mate fit in the rear of the car yesterday, big thanks to him for doing it for free!

then i stumbled upon the grinder, the end result was this:

then with the old pedal box out the way it was time to fit the new one:

a quick tidy up and stand back:

just needs something to fill the big hole in the middle now!

Mark, the new pedal box. What are the main benefits of doing this?

Also, who much are we talking for one?

the holes is for the heater matrix and fan, however i shall not be to fussed about keeping warm so the heater box went!

i will be fitted an innovate wide band lambda kit to the car, was tempted with a fuel pressure gauge but ther eis no need, if the pressure drops ill notice on the innovate.

as for something to measure the balance of the tb's ill give that a miss. again the innovate will pick up any changes there!

Me loaded! lol, i wish mate! i drive a 1.8 cav day in day out that was given to me for free. only reason i can afford to build this car is working where i work!

shouldnt be too long now, if im realistic id say another 4 weeks till the engine is in. then its just little bits like brakes lines etc, ill do all that stuff when its had the negine fitted and ill take it to work.

power wise, if i dont see 240bhp ill smash it with the old crank

240bhp!!!! thats more than sbd's race engine isn't it

whats the spec then? and is it bored out to 1700cc?

11,000rpm will we be seeing?

sorry if you've already said but can be bothered to read 28 pages!
