Id say theres only 3 of you on here with a track setup car. You, Andy and Adam.

Theres also a guy with a matt black 2.0 on throttle bodies, 15" Comp alloys etc.

Sorry, don't know your car, just what i've seen and remember.

I'd say Brosters (Red 1.6 on TB????) is a nippy road car. Its not really been track setup. Same as JRs, its not track setup, its just a very light shell and tuned engine (well, more than that, but you understand my point?)

IMO, putting a suspension kit, stripping the car, and tuning the engine isn't setting up up for track.

Track setup involves more suspension tweeks, cages (welded, not bolt), chassis strengthening, complete brake setups etc...

Before the "haters" start, its what I think a track car is, thats I as in ME.

a roll cage is not essential for trackday fun, anything with good brakes and and reliable engine is.

Totally agree. You can actually have more fun in smaller engined cars as you can work on your lines, braking points, apex's and work on keeping the speed all the time instead of loosing it then spending 20 minutes trying to pickup speed again.

But Adams post is title True Track Corsas..... Track corsas is one thing, but a TRUE track corsa, is a completly different kettle of fish.

Daimo - the 205 was much more fun than the corsa...

Done two trackdays in each this year. The corsa was a lot faster in a straight line, but felt like it wanted to kill you on the corners. (Stoneyginger said it handled well ) Arse was way to waggly for me liking.
The 205 is a lot more neatral and you can be more agressive with throttle etc without going past your limits

adam, im not sure how to describe it but on your corsa do you get like passive oversteer. you turn in, then almost a second later you feel the back of the car move a bit more? almost like all the rear suspension is loose.... mine is like that and im not sure why, have changed everything for new or straight stuff, still does it.

AK - Completly agree. Arse is very twitchy on a Corsa under extreme braking. I've tried to add more weight to the ass the even out the weigh balance (the exhausts, boot etc...) and it does feel more stable, but its not going to get much better......

The more and more i get older, the more and more i know how pants the car is.

Still love it to bits though Sell me your busted TB engine

Dreadfull in the wet

Turn it... going fine... then whoaaa... there goes the ass

What ARB's are you running? Ride height?

my rears coilovers are seized... so its too low at the rear

not under braking.... under cornering.

The braking is just bias probs! Get bias valves in there to let you set it. Fitted them, along with all barke lines in side the 205. Bias can be adjusted by the turn of a knob just to the side of the seat

The VXR feels exactly like that!!! Its a bit scarey. Im trying to put faith in it, but really need to get it on track to do it safley!!! Kinda feels like the car is trying to go round a corner a little sideways

My corsa usually lets go before it grips well 90degree corner, eh, why am i facing on-coming traffic

Reallly really don't want to spend any more money on it dude. Fix, feature with TV, sell or strip Will be gutted when it happens, but time to let go (not yet though )

both jr and broster have weld in (half) cages. and i might be wrong, but isnt adams car 'just' a few bolt on bits and a tuned engine in a light shell?

Haven't seen JR's car, last I knew it didn't have a cage.

Adam also has 4 pots and has played aroudn with the suspension I think (not much though as its never been working long enough ) .

JR's car doesn't see daylight let alone a track. I can't comment any further as im going off that what I know, so what I know may be out of date.

Are you sure you're not still slowing for the corner and only loading up the weight to the front outside wheel when you come off cam / back down the rev range where there's more engine braking?

Mine does it as well, moreso if I'm lifting off to slow down too late. If I carry the speed through then its less likely to snap and just sits nice.
