When i open an excel spreadsheet i got the following warning on my screen : DOC1.doc: file format is not valid

Can anyone tell me what this means? i click ok and it opens 3-4 other spreadsheets at the same time. It's really annoying.

Please advise me?

.doc = document... open it in word.
