I'm from Holland and i'm looking for a 4-1 manifold (X1.6XE) for power in the higher revs Risse is an German Opel tuner and they can't deliver it anymore.

I found this site http://www.tuning.co.uk/vauxshop/ and i saw an 4-1 manifold. But it has cheap looks, somebody has this manifold?

to be honest i wouldnt bother swapping, you will loose marginal mid ranger power and gain marginal top end power, the loss of the mid range will be more noticable than the gain in the top end, if you can notice it at all.

he has too much midd range power and wants to loose some there and gain on top end

the car is to nervous and he cant roll a 1/4mile in 3th gear anymore.. it's blowing away his 1/4 times..

however i think it would be better to save the money and go for TB's and OMEX mm

approx 160bhp

this is a graph before the rebuild:

after the rebuild and some head-work (for midrange/torque) the max torque comes much earlyer resulting in a nervous ride

4-1 manifould would cause him to loose some in midd-range and gain some in high revs, thats what he wants

so any one know some 4-1 manifolds for the x16xe exept risse(germany)

pahhhhh, get it on our rolling roads and get a proper read out lol!

joke

good power but i still dont htink youll gain anything with putting a 4-1 manifold on, i say spend the money on better suspension set up and tyres.... you have been playing with tyre pressure and suspension stiffness i take it to get the launch better

if you look at the graph, i think you will agree it is not a 'real' figure. ive always prefered using the 'power at wheels' figure as that is far more accurate. the power at engine figures are a guestimate of the power as its impossible to work out how much drag and power loss there is through a gearbox. therefore the power at the engine figure is never 100% correct. calculating using drag is never accurate.

if it is them my x16xe would be producing 187 bhp at 7500 rpm, but its not

look at the graph again, the power at the wheels is only 102 bhp, yet its producing 167.5 Nm of torque (125 lb/ft)

also, a x16xe wont do 229 kph (142 mph) at 7600 rpm on a power run on a dyno unless you are testing in 5th

either the way they calculate power in other countries is different or our european friends know something we dont

mine had a whole 89BHP at the wheels, and it was a serious oil burner. i worked that out to be around 120-125bhp at the flywheel, but purely guesswork

wheel figure/flywheel figure, no figure is going to give an exact power on the road, even a dyno as there is no cold air etc! so any figure is good and seems most people quote flywheel figures then thats a good one to work out. the rolling road works out the drag from the transmission and stuff, so if the road is calibrated regularly you will get a pretty good realistic figure. wheel figures are good but not many people get them so its a bit hard to compare. also the rolling road really is about the shape of the graph.

lol, 5chaap2k, do it, or we should come over to you to admire the euro-ness

he found his problem!

after the rebuild he used a x14xe head and got it ported/polished

we just found out that the inlets on the x14xe head are 49mm wide
on the x16xe head they're 55mm wide!

this explains his lost in bhp's and gain in torque!

he exchanged the inlet from the x14xe for a x16xe now and allready has more power at high revs again!

picts to prove:
X14XE (+/- 48mm)

X16XE (55mm)

continous wheelspin low rev, too much torque at low rev.. he couldn't finish 1/4mile in 3th gear anymore.. costs seconds
