did you pay anything towards the insurance?

if you did get statement from bank showing this, proves in a way you have paid insurance, get back onto them and tell them you want it for the time you were insured with them...

how can they deny you that...

AS one little minor "non-declaration" and your insurance is not valid = no insurance = bum dry in jail
