how much roughly including labour would a complete rebuild be on a x16xe engine be???? just wondering if it would be worth it
or would it be easier to do it myself?

im doing one at the moment, great fun to do urself, but takes time.
havnt added it all up yet, but not a lot for a basic re-build, but im going for lots of modded parts

^ a sump gasket and timing belt isnt really a rebuld you know?

bearing shells, oil seals, rings rod bolts, oil pump, water pump and the rest.. takes a little time

cheaper
you know its done properly
satisfaction of doing it*
u learn a lot while u do it

oh dont get me wrong... runs like a dream small bit tapety i supose but it has got over 100k on the clock at this stage and has been draged around my back garden a few times but it runs purrrrfect....
the plan is to get a c20xe rebuild it and wack it in then rebuild the c16 for my misusis tigra

well i can get the engine and gear box for 200 and its runs fine but i just wanna rebuild it so its like new

paid 70 quid for mine with a gearbox and nearly new clutch head gasket had gone though

lol well i can get parts nice and cheap through a mate at vauxhall lol so just a case of ripping it apart and putting n the new parts. consdiering adding the following too it:
cams
dbilas inlet
enlarged throttle body
performace clutch
silcone hoses
viper induction kit
anything else u think i should do

Put throttle bodies on there... still havent go round to fitting mine though
mine responded well to a straight thru exhaust and induction kit

go with the 2.0 dude... 1.6 is great for doing 1/4 miles and shit but the f15cr gearbox is really annoying for the motorway....

mine works better with f13, hit an indicated 120 mph at just about 6 k rpm in 5th
