had an ongoing problem with my car, tried changing ht leads and plugs, but and please note this is on and off, after around 3-4k the car seems hesitant to pull, and you can feel it pulling and dying on and off as you accelerate, also car smells of petrol when pulled up to a standstill, ne ideas? iv just whacked a large amount of injector and fuel system cleaner thru so il see if that does the job!

also there are no signs of head gasket gone, ie no white in the oil and no black in the water, car doesnt really cough out much smoke except when cold

If you couldnt smell fuel i would have said dispac - but i would put it down to fuel filter the pumps are so so strong.

steve the problems sound similiar to mine, kinda like a big flatspot yeah?? just doesnt want to do a thing...

do you have any sort of induction kit? I've traced mine to the pipercross which is fitted but I just cant be arsed changing it right now... but the fuel filter also needs cleaning...

ecotec... pah!

Its located on the fuel tank, thats as much as I know

its in front of the rear wheel arch on drivers side, u need to depressurized the fuel system to replace it.

You need to remove the engine and put it back in the wrong way round.

its a relay i think, or something like that, something in the kick panel, i gave up after that and never did it in the end

take out the fuel pump relay and turn it over for a while

My indicators are not working at present, I think the relay has moved when I removed the dash.

think it's the pink box top left of this pic.
remove the trim panel, take out the relay, turn the car over.

Didnt know that mine is the same between 2.5k - 3k C16XE so if i take the relay out and try to turn it over then put it back in it should cure it?

no we do this to depressurize it so we can change the filter, i am a more highly trained mechanic than kevin webster out of coronation street
