if there is no sync light on the modem, and its saying its not picking anything up, it means that tesco have never activated the line in the first place, so just place a normal order with pipex, not a migration order.

Tesco won't give you a code as they use datastream and most other ISP's use IPStream so you can't migrate anyway. You need to do a cease from Tesco and a new order from your chosen ISP.

EMAIL:

Dear PIPEX Customer

Further to your recent PIPEX Xtreme ADSL application, we have been advised by BT that
your nominated telephone line has an incompatible service which is preventing
us from continuing with your order.

To allow us to proceed with your order you will need to contact BT and
arrange for the incompatible service to be removed. BT can be contacted
by calling 150 for residential customers or 152 for business customers.

Tracking:

Your order is currently "on hold" because BTs records show your line as having services incompatible with ADSL. For more information about this, check the FAQ on the PIPEX Web site..

Please contact PIPEX Customer Care on 0845 077 2455 as soon as possible for an update on your order status, quoting your PIPEX Xtreme user ID or order number.

At this time, we estimate that your line is likely to be enabled during 21/12/2004. This date may still be subject to change and so you should check back in a few days for a further update. A precise installation time cannot be guaranteed but work will normally be completed by the end of the business day.
When BT update us with more information, this page will be updated.

lol it is, the line was only renewed last year :/

i think they fooked up when they put the second line in, they they split it like they did yours when u had 2 lines.

except i dont get any lower connection speeds

So it's not fucked up totally then.
If it's split the same way, you can physically only get 31200kbs or lower, because the bandwidth of the line has been halved.
Luckily, you can get them to change it.
