What are some of the worst f*ck ups that have been made by car manufacturers ?

Stuff like:

The Ford Pinto that had the petrol tank too close to the rear bumper so when another car crashed into the back of one it would explode !!!

If you are the lucky owner of a VW Touareg and the alternator gives up it will cost £400 for the new part, oh, and not to mention the £4000 labour cost to have it fitted - the whole engine needs to be removed to access it. The same goes for the starter motor.

And the fact that the 'feature loaded' VW Golf 'match' (you will have seen the ad on TV) didn't ever come with central locking or electric windows, so when people wanted it fitted as an extra when buying the car outside companys had to come fit the equipment.

thats becasue you will have to mess with the loom, if it goes wrong the warrenty company wont pay out if its been fitted by a delership, if its fitted by an outside company and it goes wrong there responsible, not vw
