I got quoted £700ish when i was 19 on a Turbo, as some companies class them as the same as a N/A for some reason.

Yep, insurance as kit cars is silly cheap, my friend looked into doing that to a tubby and it was 1/3 the cost of insuring the standard car.

maybe its cos they realise how much time and effort goes into building a kit car. you know the same as modding a car... opps shit im wrong bad comparison how stupid of me to think it'd be cheap to insure a modded car.

Not really, even the best rep's ive come across just dont have the same stance of a rari, they are not wide enough, and the wheels look stupid and spaced in the arches. & as soon as you look inside you just know your not looking at 100k+ worth of car. Unless the interior had been ripped out and re-done totally!!

my gran could tell most apart

tbh, go and have a look at one but most of the time people wont notice the diff when it drives past. Only when you start looking at the interior and little bits and pieces is it possible to tell the difference.

Although some people go to alot of trouble when doing these reps, i remember one bloke got the real deal alloys and the interior looks almost the same (propper ferrari steering wheel) and he brought real deal lights etc. He even went down to the propper ferrari wheel caps

And personally i would get one, mainly because of the insurance, which is flipping cheap if you limit to around 6k a year

although this is abit expensive, especially on a J although its still alot cheaper than buying a real one - which a so so cond 95 being around the 35k-40k mark Theres a crushed one on ebay going for 25k, so you get the idea

you can tell even easier when they drive past, if you know what you are listening to!

2.0ltr 16v old jap engine

or an 8-12cylinder monster!

They are toss, they are about half the size of a ferrari and sound gay in comparision. I've seen some wanker driving one with a dump valve on ffs?!? Yeah, thats not a give away....

Its not worth building one, just incase on that one extremely rare day an F355 pulls up next to you at the lights......

To be fair though... Who here can afford a real Ferrari 355? or to insure a real ferrari 355???? - no one...

So someone who wants ferrari looks and a fairly rapid car (280 bhp) ... its not too bad and that insurance is so cheap
