Hello,

Im fitting my momo wheel to my car which has an air bag, I know how to remove the airbag and all that, but what i want to know is how i stop the airbag warning light comming on, without me having to remove the bulb from the back of the dails.

I heard something about a wire with a resistor or something, that goes in the two connections on the airbag plug. But im not sure ?

Can anyone who's done this before or knows how its done, please shed some light on it for me??

Any help would be fantastic, cheers all !

If the airbag is removed, then what are the implications of wiring a resistor into the airbag system?

corsa b.

I wasnt going to do anything until i knew exactly what i needed to do. The resistor was to go into the plug left on the car, from one pin into the other with the resistor between, this 'aparenty' makes the car think the aibag is still intact, so no airbag warning light shows up. Can anyone confirm that this is correct? If so what kind of resistor do you use ?

I think it says something about it in the corsa modding manual, but i dont have one at hand

airbag ecu will detect dodgy resistance reading either go open circuit if over 6.6 ohms or read 0.0 ohms and permanent airbag light. plus if have supplementary restraint system if a c with such a bizarre reading all other airbags will get shut off. easier to remove airbag off the can line if a corsa c or simply remove the bulb if a b. another thing if wire resistor in series on a yellow airbag loom, chances are that when come to return to standard resistance will be very large due to resistive propertys of copper core solder

So maybe the resistor thing was a load of bullshit then?

Is there no other way around it then?

do you mean pull the fuse for the airbag light ? or for the airbag itself ?

Surley the airbag light, will be linked to other dash bulbs aswell will it not ? thus all dash lights will go out ?

ther shud be a fuse for the airbag complete system. srs fuse.
bulb in dash is one bulb that lights up one symbol.

So if the airbag system fuse is removed, does the airbag light come on ?

Another thing is, im not sure if ive got the right boss for my 'airbag' fitted corsa. So if i disconnect the battery and take my wheel off and try and fit the new one and the boss dosnt fit, If i put the original wheel back on and plug the airbag back in, the airbag light wont come on when i re-connect the battery right ???? or will it?

there should be a fuse which will take power of the complete airbag system. as long as ignition off when removing airbag and plugs etc, no trouble code will be stored
