The C16XE is a great engine so you should get at least as good results as the suxo's, probably better.

surpose u could contact several supercharger companies and see what they think, if they do it to other 1.6 engines then theres no reason why it cant be done to a corsa 1.6 engine

well look at the VW's. They responded well but i dont think they used a centrifugel(Spelling) charger. hence they had problems.

im just researching it rather than saying im gonna do it.

wanna find out costs and difficulty. Its gonna be far more expensive than a conversion but IMO will be worth it.

well, you could pick up a rotrex charger for about £1k, intercooler for about £200, then all the other bits and pieces for about 500 quid.

say 2 k total.

sounds good this although i doubt you will get 80% more power from wacking a charger on your engine, but it does sound like a mad idea btw anyone got any information on superchargers, how they work etc?

Btw, that astra is MINT like the sound of it when it picks up, sounds like a propper rally car damnit, if someone does do it, can i have a go? pleeeeeeasssssseeeee

I reckon you can get about 70-80% more power. The saxos get 150 bhp at the wheels thats from a 1.6 8v

VTS's see 201 at the fly.

hmmm...im still abit unsure that you would get that amount of power to behonest, otherwise loads of people would be doing it, plus its more power than you average TB setup. But then again, the sound of the supercharger alone has me going
Although surely it would be better just to go the 2lt coverstion? then again, you will loose some of the handling
Well its sounds mental mate and the sound of the charger from that astra is just....*drolls* but have you read the www.tsr.nu website? the bloke has had loads of problems with his charger and setting it all up although he has gone the twinscrew route, which seems about the best idea since you get no lag what so ever although it all seems very pricey .

btw, anyone got any ideas what the insurance is like for a supercharged corsa? im curious to how they would price it since they will have nothing to compair it to, whereas a 2lt they quote you the price for the donor car....still would make for a funny convosation with your insurance people craig - "sorry sir, you have a WHAT corsa?....supercharged?!"

lol, totally. well im 24, il be 25 this year with maximum ni claims so im not to worries about insurance. Its gonna cost about the 2k mark i reckon.

conversions are to common. i want summin different.

this seems to be a good choice. i wanted TB's but again, i want to be different.

I have a rolling road print out of a VTS giving just shy of 150 at the wheels.
