Don't like kits never have never will but each to their own. To be honest though my opinion has very much been swayed by Ak and LuckyB

id say it is, in nearly 20, and wud prefer a faster car, but insurance is silly, so, i never had any plans to kit my corsa, but im in the middle of it now, then next year i will increase the performance of the car, but because of insurance, i have decided its not possible to throw in an C20XE

i dont like all these ott cars on 20s etc, but some kitted cars do look well

A question to folk with big lairy bodykits:

Do you not feel like complete tits driving around in a car looking like that?

My thoughts....

I used to have a kitted up corsa and i thought it was the bee's knee's till i was around 21.... then it got a bit embarressing.

Do you think this is just and age related issue, or change of tastes etc?

Totally agree now. See a jap styled kit and I think sad.

I'd only get a bodykit if I had a good car, like a supra or skyline, then it would have to be a veilside jobby. Im not into bodykits but I do like my car to look nice. colour coded, lowered and grill.

Never liked huge bodykits - never really will, but some cars suit them, some dont. If its not a Japanese car DONT put Jap spoilers etc on it!!!

The only kits l like are subtle or Euro style

I still like big bodykits only if they are done well. I dont like seeing huge kits with neds with their baseball caps though.

I do feel embarrased to say i own a corsa, but thats only words. I love modifying my car and i love the bodykit on it. IT took me 3 years to decide the route i wanted to go (Irmscher to Carzone to BAT to .......... etc), but now its kinda done, i love it.

I dont love having a standard front bumper and my bonnet at the mo though, looks awful

But on the whole, i love the look of my car, i love the look of Donnas, and i love it when we take both cars out.

1 Mad, lary, bright, mental
1 subtle, darker in colour, smaller wheels etc.

2 totally different but the same cars.

But its not just a phase for me. I love cars, always have, always will. I would prefer a bigger car to start with, but its still my first car, and until its finished perfectly as to how i want it, then its staying with me

I wanted the maddest baddest kits etc when i was 17 blaa blaa, but im 20 now and im the same as daimo everytime i buy a bit of kit im never happy with it and end up selling it before it makes it onto the car, started off wanting jap and blaa blaa but then i wanted to go more subtle.
I like big bodykits on some car, cars like that green Mr2 on redline or the yellow beemer, cars that are properly built with care and attention, not 500% fibreglass 3d concept drawings.

Plus i like my car to work! Dont want it so low i cant get out of my drive

Im even a bit embarresed now of my BFO cone I bet people hear me and think (wheres that nova twat with the cap on) Even tho thats my opposite lol

I like kits that make the car actually look better, something that most corsa kits fail to do. I like Veilside kitted RX7's and Supra's as they make the car IMO look better. Plus 9 times out of 10 they have the engine to go with the looks.

My ideal kit is Steinmetz for a corsa.

Also bodykits and big wheels are fitted by attention seekers. IMO of course

p.s. all the above is MY OPINION

i use to like kits as well, not anymore though, subtle mods are best. i personally think this attitude has come with age and actually waking up to the fact a kit is not the be all and end all. if your going to get a kit i think it has to happen as soon as you past your test then ditch at the latest by the time your 21

I know i will grow out of my car, but at the moment i love it and spend far too much money on it! As many people have said, each to their own etc. I have to admit that i dont like the stereotype of the boy racer image that driving a kitted car has though - i dont think ive ever worn a cap while driving, dont hang out in mc donalds, only ever done one hand brake turn (dont ask!) and dont have a 12 yr old girlfriend.
