Performance?
Drill the airbox and fit an aftermarket (pipercross etc) panel filter. 1-2 bhp gain. Nice sound

Induction kit. I have a green cotton one. Sounds quality. Look nicer but many people say the above option is better.

If you have loadsa money.
Throttle bodies
Viper induction kit
Chip in the ECU

I think they mean a straight through exhaust system bypassing the cat. A decent system (£250+) will gain about 3 bhp / look good and sound good.

HGi, im Damien from the UK

Unfortunatly u have the 8v SPi 60bhp unit. Its really really not worth tuning this engine as your never going to get much power. Effective mods to help though as said would be to drill the airbox and fit and aftermarket panel filter. Acompany that with an exhaust system and you may see 3-5bhp, but thats not really noticable on the road.

As said, if you can find yourself a 2.0 16v engine (20XE, C20XE) then look at the conversion kit from Mtec/PVD.

P+P though will be a killer.

more like 0.1 - 0.2bhp increase on this engine.

TB's can't be done on the SPi either, viper induction kit again would only help the engine breath more easier, wouldn't really increase power and not worth the money for this engine.
No point chipping the ECU, its like overclocking a 468 SX33 to 34MHz. Pointless!

All you can really do with this engine is help it breathe, there aren't any performace mods out there which benefit this engine. As it's only got the dingle injector aswell, getting more fuel trough is near impossible. If you do, try get another engine, maybe one from an SRi Corsa (is a 1.4 8v or 16v, but these are more tunable lumps), or even a GSi/Sport (1.6 16v)

if you get 16 inch rims, go for a tyre profile of something like 205/40/16 or 195/40/16

I dont think they get the 16v engines over there.

Maybe look at the C16SE engine. (think thats the code). It came out of our Nova (Corsa A) and has 100bhp. I know the South Africans get it in their GSi's so more of a chance that you will find that engine. Its a 1.6 8v.

if you can afford it, get a set of uprated dampers aswell as lowering springs. 40-50mm drop on 16's would be ok, and as long as the alloys offset is around et45 - et49 you shouldnt have any problemns fitting them, otherwise you may need to trim the plastic arch lip & debolt the underside to stop scrubbing.
If you have more money to spend, then a set of Coilovers are the way, FK kits are impressive kits for the corsa! But don't get Pi kits, they seem a good price, but the build quality is poor

Didn't think about the Nova! Should be a fairly straight swap still aswell

Ohh yeah i remember you. Not to bad, got a 2.0 16v myself now

Dampers/shox = basically, the part that hangs down and that your springs go around. If you look behined the front wheel, you will have a round shox/damper coming down fromt eh suspension turret under the bonnet. Wrapped around this damper will be the spring. You can remove the spring (spring clamps needed) and fit lower springs on which will make the ride height drop.
