there is no difference between the 1.6 16v corsas and vtr, infact the 1.6 corsa will win a race, but not on twisties! if u want to win against him u shud consider a new inlet manifold, this is my engine spec, and i beat the vtr
PiperX Viper induction kit, Lexmaul inlet manifold, Ecotek Valve, Scropion Grp A cat back system, super chip
that gives me a proven 109bhp and 100lbft of torque

It would be your body kit and wheels weighing you down. The VTR's now only have 90BHP from factory but being a 1.6 will have heathier amount of torque to beat you. they run 14's on you're on 16's that a major factory already, then you've got the extra weight of the stereo etc.....
You can have both a fast car and show one rolled in to one. you will losses to a std corsa sport how you car is.
It's plain physics. It's not just power to think about, it power/weight that matters.
cheap power is nitrous, 75BHP extra with the flikc of a switch

my corsa used to beat a vtr all the way to 80 then theyd come past, my car had a panel filter and a magnex back box with a proven 96bhp and 102lb/ft torque! vtrs now i laugh at, oh and vts's

the lexmaul one is bout £400, but u can get one fro manzel, velos and dblis, the lexmaukl one works differently to the others it uses ram induction rather than removing the lower inet and moving the throttle body, the lexmaul is the most expencive but easy to swop urself, the others will take more time, but still do-able ur self id have thought! u will also need a chip to get the most out of the velso, manzel and dblis ones, but the lexmaul u dont need a chip so much, i have one to smoth out a flat spot really!

RR's are hardly accurate, the wheel power and torque are the real measures.

dont ask how cuz i dont know, i had the car and the engine seized 3hrs after picking it up, it was rebuilt by vauxhall and seemed to be quick standard for what it was, i played once with a 1.4 16v corsa that had a 4branch, decat, superchip and ind kit and still beat him, although we were on roads that had islands, mine handled really well plus i can be a bit of a loon!
