God knows what our back 4 will look like tomorrow, probably draft Fletcher in again! Evra is a doubt. O'Shea, Brown, Heinze and Park, Richardson and Saha also out God knows how but Cathcart is injured too! No Ronaldo for Milan as hes cup tied.

Probably look like:

Van Der Sar
Fletcher O'Shea Brown Heinze
Ronaldo Scholes Carrick Giggs
Rooney Smith

Kuszczak, Solskjaer, Dong

the other thread was a joke, but it really could be time to show your strength in depth this time! Its going to be hard for you, but if you can keep the score fairly level then you might have a chance going over there. I still think you will get beat over the two legs though...and then blame it on the injuries!

As for our game, its a tough one to call. Chelsea have a few injury problems with Carvalho and Ballack, and also have Essien banned. This we will go for a team like.....

---------------------Reina-----------------------
Finnan-------Carra-------Agger-------Arbeloa
Pennant-------Alonso-------Masch-------Riise
-------------------------Gerrard-----------------
-----------Kuyt/Crouch-------------------------

Mainly think that as means Gerrard can slot into the midfield when depending and put 5 across the middle, but also have a lot of freedom to attack and cause trouble. Go there to try to grab a goal and a score draw or possibly a 1-0 win.

To be fair, with the injuries we have its not really an excuse!!!

I have no problem with Smith being up front hes been really good these past few games. Heinze and Brown are capable, not like Brown doesn't have the experience. Just fletcher might be an issue if hes to be used in defence.

We have no defenders left though!!!! If it was me I'd have Kuszczak in defence and save O'shea for if Van Der Sar gets injured

evra might make the match tomorrow, i hope he does as then we'll be able to put evra right back (strange i know) heinze left back, then brown and o'shea, although fergie will play fletcher

if we get a decent result on tuesday we have a chance, as vidic will be back for the milan game, evra will be too,

cathcart got injured in training somehow,

chris eagles will also be on the bench, or they may start him if they are really having problems

roma are a different style of team to AC, they tend to attack more unlike AC who look like being more defensive, even with the talent they have

Having your entire back four wiped out before a champions league semi final is something no top team in Europe could cope with imo, very harsh.

Exactly my point there is no team in Europe that has that strength in depth, a strong squad can cope with the loss of 2 or 3 players not your entire defence.

I agree they couldnt cope to still be at the high standard, but they should have more than 12 players to pick from!!

FFS, there is strength in depth. If you had 5 defenders injuried would you have another 4 first team defenders to step in?

Both United and Liverpool have11 first team defenders, and both have unrecoginsed players making up that number.
