just spent the last 4 hours waiting for RAC as fucking engine caught on fire and is pretyy fucked ,

pulled over after the bypass and smoke pissing from engine and poped the bonnet to get confronted with flames , managed to put it out as house near by had a water suplly tank thing,

blown boost hoses off and pipes are all split with coolant and melted pipes every where

(not relating to fire but) did'nt you have the engine rebuilt recently, did you not have to run it in at all, as 160mph seem bit extream for running in

underfueling/running lean would melt internals... not set an engine on fire

is/was the smoke out the back first?

may have got EGT's sooooo high ... dunno

never had it rebuilt , just had all new boost hard pipes and solinoids replaced

should be able to kind of work it out by looking at the fire damage and seeing where it is the worst. then lok to see if there is any connector, fuel pipe which may have caused the fire.

what did you recently get done to the car?

the fire was down in by the turbos ,

just replaced pipes and solinoids
