going to a wedding next weekend somewhere a little bit posh. now I've got a suit sorted out and shoes, but the question is what colour shirts and ties are appropriate for a wedding? all i have is a white shirt, or a dark blue shirt for work basically.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

Having been to six weddings this year I have some idea. I always go suited with a white shirt and a tie. Sometimes the tie was even matched to my wife's dress.

Quite a few people will probably have a white shirt.

I wore a pink shirt and no blazer, but it was 30 odd celcius in the height of summer.

Can't go wrong with black/grey suit, white shirt and a nice tie. Pink or purple seem to be popular.

I wear a Black Suit, and a dark shirt (Black/Brown/Grey/Blue) and get a tie in similar colours to whatever the GF is wearing.

gonna go have a look at asda tomorrow on lunch break see what they have in. i don't want an elaborate expensive tie, i don't know how often i will ever need to use it but i think matching the womans dress isn't a bad plan

If someone told me they'd chose a tie to match their missus' dress, I would understand it as, their missus chose a tie that matched her dress and then told him that he had to wear that one.

Go for the one that will look the coolest wrapped round your head while you pretend to be Daniel LaRusso at 2am

just make sure you don't match the invitation colours which usually gives a clue as to what the bridesmaids and bride's colour scheme will be.

I usually go for a white shirt and a pink or Purple tie. I did have a caramel one but the wife fucked it up in the wash.
