iv driven round coombe in the wet and its not to bad, still a real enjoyable track although some of the higher speed corners towards the end can can be abit nerve racking.

Im only spectating on sat but looking forward to seeing some of your motors giving it large

The forecast shows rain this sat. So bring a coat, umbrella and wrap up warm.

I'm gutted about this weather, though not because it will bother me on the day or that i'll have to drive a little slower round the track. Infact neither of these bother me, as the track action should be quite entertaining in the wet to watch  and driving around the track will be just as challenging, but a new type of challenge (who can go the fastest in the wet... handling the car if the back end slides out etc  ) (just hope my ditch finder £35 tyres that are proclaimed for being crap in the wet don't let me down too much!).

But the key reason i'm upset about the weather, is that I'm worried it's going to tarnish people's ideas of what a 'castle combe action day' is like or even going on track in general.

You see to me, one of these Action days at combe, is about being out in the hot weather :o - watching some great track time, meeting up with mates and doing a bit of driving yourself

This is what I've loved to see at each event :) and what i'd hoped for this year.

However, the reality is, the outlook is rain, we may get lucky and it will be just occasionaly showers, or raining in say the morning, but clear by the afternoon, but the chances are a lot of the day may be quite miserable.

I've already had Rob B on MSN tell me he doesn't want to go now it's wet, as it's a long way to go and he'll end up crashing his car :look:

But seriously people, don't let the rain put you off! If you are on track, just drive a bit more conservatively (I know i will be driving a LOT slower, granny style), but remember it's just a peice of tarmac at the end of the day... You'd probably be comfortable driving fairly swiftly on a normal road in the wet, so remember it's not completely different from the track, only the track has further space to run off  - Just give each other space on track and if you are worried someone is too close behind, just indicate and let them go past.

I guarentee you'll still have a good day, watching the action will be just as entertaining (maybe more so) and I suggest having a walk round to each of the different corners of the track to watch a session at each of them! Just wrap up warm and remember your umbrella!

But finally, don't let whatever you experience on sat to put you off going to a castle combe day again in the future, or driving on track! You may go on track in the wet and enjoy it, or you may go out and be scared to push it - but this doesn't mean the next track day will be as bad. Put it on the flip side, that a wet track is a good chance to learn the limits of your car in the wet, in a very safe environment.

Anyway chaps, it WILL be a good day and I look forward to meeting you all on sat! Just don't let the weather ruin your day
