Originally posted by Paul_J Yeh 'definately' is wrong, I was just fairly sure they were 1.4, never seen a 1.6 xsi, what power do they make? same engine as s2 rallye? :| bet they're rare as rocking horse shit and that this guy perhaps didn't know there was a 1.4.
As said i've had two of the fuckers... They were a bit of a bodge up at Peugeot... they were a trial to see how the 106 would handle a 1.6 engine. for this reason they kept making slight changes between the years, so an M reg one will drive differently to an L reg one. Obviously this says the later one you can find, the more refinments peugeot made, and the better the car is. The N reg 1.6's were the first 106 to use peugeots own in house suspension system, that were properly built for the car, instead of =some outside company. This suspension was carried onto the GTi, but not the saxos... which is why you might notice a VTS body rolling more than a GTi (again the difference in noticable!) BTW the pre-cat 1.4 made 100bhp, they were around till L reg, the later ones only made 90 iirc. And thats that :) And they ran the 1.6 along side the 1.4, iirc the 1.4 started in 1992, ended 1995 and the 1.6 started 1993 and ended 1996 :)
