infact...my old office chair was made from a nova gsi passenger seat and an old office chair base, now that was very comfy and I could also get people in the back lolol

i cant see how metal unadjustable arm supports can be comfy, nik?

My work one is ace, was only about 200 quid but I like the ones where you can lean back and the chair counterbalances your weight lol

I did have a look at those, they are very nice, not sure I quite want to spend that sort of money right now though

Simon, the Charles & Ray eames aluminium & soft pad group chairs really are the most popular, famous and comfortable office chairs out there. Images below..

Can get them in fabric, leather, swivel base, or with height/tilt adjustment etc etc. Start around £250 for a very basic chair, up to £1000-1250 for a top spec in leather. The new prices are around £3500 for top spec, and £1250 odd for a basic fabric chair!

Other nice chairs would be the Charles Pollock chair for Knoll, Fred Scott Supporto for Hille :)

Corbusier mainly designed lounge seating and the famous day bed.

I was just going to ask the same question.

Nik, I quite fancy something with a bit of heritage and style. Are you aware of any office chairs by any architects? I know Corbusier did some really nice stuff but not sure any of it is suitable for an office desk. Any ideas, your field I think
