I can see what your saying, I guess I'm thinking from my point of view. Only games I go to are United (and don't even go to all of those) so if there were games shown on TV at 3pm it would be a bonus for me to be able to watch them. Makes no odds to me any more anyway as I work most Saturdays now.

I don't think it would reduce the attendance much to be honest. Chances are it would only be Premiership & Championship matches broadcast.

If someone is going to a league 2 game they are going because they really support thier club. I can't see them being the sort of person that is going to say "Oh Fulham are playing Stoke no TV lets watch that instead"

If anything i think it would hurt the teams towards the top of the league that are not doing well i.e. the ones with 20,000 turning up to watch West Ham, they are more likely to lose people turning up to the game to watch it on TV.

If I knew I could watch Newcastle play at 3 every weekend I'd be much less likely to go to Bristol Rovers. Most of the people I go with are also 2TW's so imagine it would be the same for them

Even at championship level most people I know that go and watch Bristol City play are 2TW's

I can see the reason behind them not being, I do think it would reduce the attendances at lower league teams

Go to a game in L2 or the BSBP and you'd see a few prem shirts knocking about. Teams like Barnet and Stevenage (L1 I know) get Spurs and Arsenal fans at their games. They'd definitely suffer as a result. Some 'fans' just want to see football and there's not alot else to do on a saturday at 3pm.

Depends how much a foreign decoder is? If they are cheap then i'd happily replace my sky subscription with one, which ultimately reduces the money Sky can pump into the PL, no?

Not sure if they are cheap for you and me but they are much cheaper for a Pub because you avoid the huge prices that Sky charge them.

would affect attendances too much.

it is what they do in Italy. That's why Italian matches are so easy to pick up streams

I can't see anything illegal about it if you are either broadcasting free to air stuff or you have a paid for subscription.

A Portsmouth landlady has won a case with the EU against her fine of 8k for using a Greek decoder to play premier league matches live at 3pm on a Saturday. This is massive for pubs around the country but it might have a damaging effect on lower league football.

If they uphold this ruling, pubs can put the matches on in the same way.

What are your thoughts on this? I'm on my phone so could someone get a link from sky news for this
