There's nothing specific I wanted to shoot just wanted to have a go at it really. Was going to use my go pro as a camera as it can shoot in time laps mode itself all I'd have to do would be set it up and move it. Plus the quality from it is good enough for a start off.

Going to look at some software now anyways.
Thanks chaps.

How far do you need to pan?

The resolution of your camera stills is much higher than the finished video output, so there's lots of room to pan within the frame, without actually moving the camera.

Depends on what you're shooting as well, though. If you want a panning wide angle shot, then you've got to rotate the camera.

Time lapse is easy enough - you can even do that post-process if the hardware won't do it.

Moving the camera, only a mechanism on the tripod.

Doesn't look like it needs to be mega-bucks.

Only other thing I'd say is see if the software can smooth it a bit, be nice to stabilise the pan so you're not really relying on that tripod thing rotating at a constant pace.

Is there a way of doing this without the silly silly expensive equipment?

Like these sort of things
