Old thread I know but if you haven't yet bought one I've just bought today the Tamron SP 70-300mm F/4-5.6 Di VC USD which came in at nearly £120 cheaper than the Nikon variant and has very good reviews

I've used this lens on a D90 for the last 4 years with great results. :cool:

I don't own one but I've only ever heard good things about them. In good light they're meant to be fantastic, what is it you're planning on using it for?

Just ordered one of these want to start getting back into photography and fancied a telephoto, any one got one of these and rate them? Going on to a Nikon D90
