Thats pretty much it Alex.

We also currently have that problem but they are quite obedient after the second or third bollocking

Currently thinking of an HTML form maybe. With radio buttons and a comment box. But not sure how the admin of a such a thing would work for different users etc.

So the site you manage is linking to a bunch of external (third party?) sites, that all employees share one login to?

I've no idea how your idea could be implemented, technically, but I can tell you that if was our company it would take exactly 14 seconds before every site was ticked as "occupied" as people would forget to untick it when done.

Gents,

As you have all helped out previously for some Google sites work I have been doing here at work, I wondered if anyone could think of a solution that might assist me with a problem I have.

I manage a website (Google Site) that is linked to our Corporate account and is private. I.e. Only employees with the work Gmail accounts can see this website, it is not published on the www. The purpose of this is to provide access to a number of websites that employees need to use for their work. There are 60+ websites most of which have between 1 and three logins (a username and password). Each login is typically set to allow only one computer to access so only one person can be in this at one time. This provides issues with two people wanting to use the same website and constantly logging each other out.

I am looking at ways of using a sort of Traffic Light display or box a user could "tick" and add a comment in to inform others they are using it (first come first served). This has to be able to be edited by a user who does not have admin rights to the Google Website (only view access)

So some sort of HTML basic gadget would do. But my knowledge of these things is minimal. The Google sites framework is quite limiting in respect of Java and PHP and in most cases it does not work. So HTML is the preferred option. We use a rather old school workaround currently which is fine but could do with being easier and clearer.

Any ideas if what I require is even possible?
