There are a handful of rugged sata connectors, designed for military/industrial applications but i can't say i've ever seen a rugged eSATAp cables. | |

What I'd ideally like is to use something like an IEC connection (i.e. kettle lead), but with more pins. | |

Just use any connectors with enough terminals. Wouldn't be difficult to make them up. | |

Yeah I thought of that, but the problem is the connectors need to be fairly chunky and in a male/female arrangement for docking purposes (lol) | |

Look at PoeSATA/eSATAp as you might be able to separate the power again on the driver, otherwise you can get PoeSATA/eSATAp enclosures. | |
