USB unless you have a Gigabit setup - which I assume you don't ask you're asking this question ;)

If are using 100mbs this is only 12.5 mb per sec, plus with over heads you will be lookin a lower speeds.

Best bet is 1Gb crossover ( all 4 pairs crossed) , this would get you 125mb per sec, 3276 seconds or 54 mins.

But there is now real way of transfering when you factor in over heads.

When you connect up by ethernet make sure you disable your wireless.
Even on a N network due to the interferance I would expect a 100Mbit wired network to be faster.

Wired ethernet will be the fastest, ideally gigabit.

Shit, I didn't realise not disabling the wireless would affect the wired transfer :look:

That was the case, just assumed that it would use the wired as a default.

It won't affect the 'wired' transfer but it may be that your computer just decides to use the wireless instead of the wired i.e. its not actually using the wired at all

Got to move 400gb of data accross to a network harddrive.

Whats the best way to do this?

Wirelessly it seems to get ~2mb per second.
Ethernet cable is exactly the same...
Whats the data rate of a usb transfer cable??

Any ideas? Would take about 4-5 days to transfer at that rate :look:
