No one knows, more than likely there will be something new coming out in the iPhone world. Whether it's a 3GS with more storage and a software update to unlock the FM Radio or a new model which is faster has a better screen and is possibly 4G we will have to wait.

So is there or is there not going to be a new one? TBH the 3GS does everything I want, might hold on to get it a fiver cheaper a month or something

You'd think they'd make a 4G one, but undoubtedly they'll wait a year before doing that. But there will be something new to spunk your cash on this year. Is it worth waiting for? Maybe not...

Yip, orange giving away unlimited texts as well, I'd expect other networks to do something similar.

Has that actually got a launch date yet, as last time I looked it hadn't?

in any case I'm willing to bet it'll be as expensive running a naff windows system that I've pretty much got tired of. Maybe it'll run flash and maybe it'll have USB ports but for 90% of my computer time I don't need either of those things. All I want is something to lightly browse, pick up emails and take on photoshoots to display photos to clients. Nothing else I've seen has come near to being as straightforward and simple to use as the ipad will be. Yes it's just a big iPod touch, but for me that's all I want or need. Unless something else comes along to prove me wrong in the next couple of months I'm sure i'll get one.

I wanna know this.

Sorry John, but I've been playing with LOADS of phones and the only touchscreen that is really any good is the iPhone one. Plus the email on it is quite good, internet browsing is nice (apart from the lack of flash  ).

Dunno if I should bite the bullet and get an iPhone 3Gs now or just wait a few months...

I heard that they might delay it until all of the ipad hype passes over. Not sure if that's the case or not but it sort of makes sense

I still can't wait for the ipad to come out. Don't own any apple products at the moment, but the ipad will be awesome for me.

As for a new iPhone, I'd go with the theory that with apple putting so much effort I to something new, the best the iPhone will get is a minor update.

This man speaks sense sometimes.

There will be one out, people who buy an ipad will waste money on anything so will buy a new iphone too.

Pretty sure Apple did not release any details of the 3G or 3GS until the summer WWDC each year in June then releasing the phone around July.

Last year around this time they released the beta of OS3 and a song and dance about it all but they did not talk about a new phone.

I dont think they would announce it until June 'ish' time, and then release around July?

I would guess theres a chance not considering they've been pushing the iPad instead, but who knows.
I think it would be quite brave to try and encourage people to buy both an iphone and Ipad at around the same time of year.

there's a new 4G bluetooth add-on for the 3g/3gs from sprint in the US.

there will be a new iPhone in June. Apple usually stick to their new product dates, even if it's just a minor update.

I would guess there will be a new one at the same time of year that there is always one and a software update for the current 3GS.

Anyone have any concrete proof there'll be a new one this year? Am about to sign up for a 3GS but'll hang on if there's a new one on the way. Only sign I can see is the tariffs getting cheaper, possibly to shift the old stock.
