As John said, if you going from DVI to HDMI or HDMI to DVI then it won't carry audio. Even if it's HDMI from the laptop to HDMI on the TV there is a good chance it won't carry audio (depends on the laptop, might be an option somewhere to change it - RTFM!). | |

if you have hdmi-hdmi cable, hdmi on both the laptop and the tv I don't understand what you are using dvi for or where tbh. | |

Dvi doesn't carry audio, if you are using dvi anywhere in the chain it won't give audio. | |

hi folks, when connecting my laptop to tv via HDMI or DVI i cant get sound, so i play a Blueray film through the HDMI cable but cannot get sound at all? |
