shouldnt need it plugged in via ethernet, should just be able tyo power it up install the adapter on the pc and find the strongest signal, then set it up via wireless.

take the router to the pc, doens't need to be connected to the phone to set up.

Get the wireless set up then move it back.

help me please!!

my inlaws have been and bought a pc, which i want to set up wireless as the phone socket is miles from the pc desk.

i have got a netgear wireless router, belkin wireless usb adaptor, lexmark wireless printer.

what i want is to install it so that there are no cable connections between the pc and router or printer. can i set this up without an internet connection, or do i have to wait for AOL to switch their broadband on? i have tried to connect the pc to the router, but it tells me i need to connect it with an ethernet cable, which is not what i want to do - i want it connecting wirelessly. can anyone help or tell me where i am going wrong please??
