lol I had this issue on a toshiba laptop not so long ago. fecking thing had a very discrete wifi hardware switch on the front. It wasn't even mentioned in the quick start guide :lol:

Im sure there is a button to switch the wireless on, however you need to have the drivers installed for the 'soft' buttons to work. I had this problem a couple of years ago with a mates advent machine I couldnt source the drivers for the buttons

ye looked there they seem to be ok, when i enable them it says network cable uninstalled, then if i go to start/connect to it doesnt find the wirless connection?

The one in my Dell detected the network as soon as I turned the pc on.

You shouldn't need an additional wireless adapter if there is one built in. May be that the inbuilt device doesn't have drivers installed?

i have an advent 7105 laptop which supposidly is wireless enabled, does this mean i should be able to connect to my home wirless setup without any extra connections?

i have been using a belkin wirless adapter thing which works but i have never been able to connect to any wirless network without it, can any body help me how to set this up
