yes its a command prompt delete, so the entry is removed from your file system, depending whether you are using FAT or NTFS. it wont show its ugly face again, however run a virus scan to be on the safe side...

this sounds like an illegal file length, causing windows to trip over itself when trying to delete it, or even rename it. easiest way is to locate file using the COMMAND utility in Run. do a DIR check to find the file, then use the DEL command, making sure the filename uses the 8 charecter specification, ie, C:\PROGRA~1

load your pc in safe mode, delete it. It may be a system file currently in use by one of your (dodgy) background applications. Or, a bug with Vista Beta.

hi i have a file which has installed itself on my computer, it says its a jpg, but it isnt because when i open it in firefox, it opens a directory of my entire C:/ :o now this looks very suspect! it also has a very dodgy filename which cannot be changed! i even tried going in from V:/ (my partitioned vista drive) and deleting it from there, but it just wont go. |
