I have one and i work in a camera shop, its just been replaced by the mv800 which has been cheapened down a lot! The mv700 is ace it truely is a lovely amazing quality camera and a bargin :)

the mv700 sony thing, do you have one? tempted by it, and on ebay 2 people sell them local to me... so it could be ideal

i seen one in makro, sony one, recorded straight to dvd, 4 or 40x zoom (cant remember which) and 800X digital zoom?? little screen thingy at the side. 249.99 plus VAT

tape is miles better than the dvd, get a canon mv700 off ebay, fantastic camera, then byuy a £40 dvd burner, you wont be dissapointed!

for what im using it for i really cant justify going the extra way and getting the dvd one.... if i get a tape one i guess i can play it off the dvd player and thru the telly and upload it to my pc if i want to?

DVD cam is the way to go, you would be stupid to buy a tape. Think about it.

i have a digital camera that will do footage, but want a proper video camera that i can prop in the corner of the room and vid............oooh

have u not considered maybe a digi cam that can do short movies sat 5 minutes or r u specifically looking for longer footage?

just thinkin of versatility

looking at getting a little video camera.... have £300 to spend really. guess digital is what im looking at, with a little tape? want something smallish for holidays, dont want to be the next speilburg.....
