Is compression affected with those pistons?

The key to getting more power out these engines is not just to fit longer duration cams (which keep the valves open longer for more fuel and air) but to fit higher lift cams. These raise the valve higher away from the head, again allowing more fuel and air in for more power. Problem is that the more valve lift there is, the closer they come to the piston, when the piston is near to top dead centre. Too much lift and they'll make contact - bad news! The solution is to cut pockets in the pistons, which in effect makes room to accommodate the extra valve lift.

To make it a 2.1, you need oversized 88mm pistons. Think the block needs to be worked on as well to give the extra diametre.

Wont give hugggeeee increase, but is a good start if you want to put throttle bodies on in the future.
