quote: Seen that guy advertise them again on the FB group the other day. I think they'd be more appealing if they didn't have that weird dimpled plastic layering on it - i.e., the guy smoothed and primed them so they were ready for painting, just like what you could have bought from a VX dealer back in the day.

In my loft I have the boot handle with a black and silver holden badge on it that I took off my gsi in 2007. I hadnt seen anyone with one of those badges at the time so I wanted to keep it

I bought quite a few spare GSi bits for mine when everything was still cheap, only thing I couldn't really get even 6 / 7 years ago was front jacking covers.

Yeah I've seen those jacking covers, they're not there yet. Still got all my stuff stored, one day I'll get on top of work enough to get back in to my hobby :look:

How many cars/projects you got these days Ian? I know what you are saying, easientially the same as how pattern parts have become so prominent over the last 10 years. Pattern parts tend to fit as good as oem and I guess that’s how 3D printing will be sometime in the near future. Although I have seen someone advertising 3D printed gsi jacking covers and they still aren’t close enough for my liking.

I've got a few bits, not as many as I should have kept. I also think as 3D printing gets better the price of rare stuff should drop. Or at least the availability of parts for projects should be less of a worry. Still got a bit to go but it'll get there, be nice to see cottage industry manufacturing occupying the space underneath used parts, when you consider a set of Escort Cosworth centre caps is 400 quid and a dashboard clock is 300 you can see there's certainly a business case if the quality is there. Which ongoing it will be.

Been a while since I’ve been on here, just wondered if any of you guys have some nice gsi parts hiding away in the loft/garage. |
