I get 28-30 mpg on my morning commute, 6 miles on 40mph max roads in mild traffic.
Easy does 38-40mpg on a run, although the only run its been on is driving it back to Leeds from Crewe when I collected it last week.
0-60 in 5.5. Very comfy to say its on 19" wheels with 35 profile tyres.
amount of time I hear those arguments on the BMW forums
We have a M135i and it will do 40mpg on a long run for a 6pot turbo with 330BHP - But my god its boring and you really have to watch your speed
I can drive my A6 hard, well above the national speed limit on a long run to London and return over 52mpg - I owuld see low 20's driving the M135i the same way - If I drive the A6 like I drive the M135i for ecomomny I see 66mpg
Yes petrol can be economical but my god its boring and driving a slow pace
I agree, i'm saying it can be economical for morning commute in traffic etc, but driving it properly, i'm usually around 20-22mpg :D

There are plenty of newer cars to buy which would meet the criteria, but my 330d which meets all those criteria cost me the grand sum of 4k and doesnt feel laborious to cruise at motorway speeds and still get 45+ mpg.
It's an e90 though so euro 4 I believe ? So will be affected

This is a hypothetical as I've been reading about this new diesel tax on major cities and was trying to think what I'd replace my car with should Chelmsford be one of the cities affected.
So, you bought a diesel trying to keep your commute cost down, but come October you'll be charged an extra tenner a day to use your motor, great.
Now you're thinking god damn it, don't want to be paying an extra 300 a month to use the car. So you starting thinking of replacements, something that can do 0-60 in about 6 seconds, can happily do 100 miles a day in comfort but isn't going to kill your pocket on fuel - ideally 40+ mpg average over a tank of spirited and motorway miles. What do you get ?
