I've seen a green corsa 3.0v6 with slicks and that launch is unreal. Just wish I knew his set up? I'm sure it will be similar to Jed d. (Nice b there mate like that) . I really wanna keep v6 brakes as I'm planning to do a lot of tracks as well as drags.

So i need a banded wheel? Slicks ? No company sell 16 inch slick or would they just not fit the arch?

yeah, i just had the r888's to get me started off, still like to do test runs on them etc... as far as uk road legal tyres go you cant beat r888 imo but i know what you mean about wanting that stick for drag, m&h, mickey thompson, hoosier are just a few name brands that come to mind, check on the fwd drag pages too, sometimes get some pop up for fair prices...
iv not seen 16" ones, tbh, 15" rims are fairly big when the aim is to get enough sidewall and still clear the arches. 13's are a popular choice too
and yes, the green corsa 3.0l v6 is my mate colins... he's on 24 or 24.5 slicks now, into the 10's with more to come...

No 16 inch drag slicks available , they do a 15 inch but the overall height is 26 inches so would be way to big for arch , just change brakes over before you go to pod it's only 15mins a side with bleeding them back up ,

Thing is you can't have a setup good for track and drag.

888s are crap for drag use , there a track tyre so have a hard sidewall , not what you want for drag use

i ran 22/9/13's i think, mite have been 8 wide cant remember
1.2 brakes as theres plenty of shut down road to slow down

or

toyo r888's are an ok treaded radial tyre for the purpose

as for the 60ft differences
treaded 1.79
slicks 1.63

slicks are so much more fun doing higher rev launches

Ideally I would go with 23-8-13 fitted to a banded wheel (band on the outside of the wheel) they will fit in the wheel arch fine with no work needed, only thing is there for a 13 inch wheel so you would need to change brakes for them to fit

Thanks for the reply guys . I'm running 350bhp now so need the grip as just spins . I know will be nightmare to fit over brakes any ideas??

What power are you at , your problem will be to find some tha fit over your brakes , drag tyres need a big sidewall to enable them to grip and have some give still

BigRon on here would be your best bet for asking about drag tyres

see his build thread here and maybe send him a private message to ask for advice, think his email is in his profile aswell
