Yeah, can be insured and SORN. Its the other way round you can't - you can't have tax but no insurance.

I keep corrado insured and taxed. But you can keep it insured without tax, but can't tax without insurance

Okay my Fabia is off the road at the moment for whatever reason and I'm thinking of putting a sorn on it next time the tax comes round (due to run out on 31.12) would/can you keep it insured while it's Sorned? Not clued up and never done this before.
