Any cat sold for a car built after March 2001 has to meet the original type approval so that's simply not true.

So what are you saying?? They are worth as much as an original cat??

Ive had a few copy's from cars newer than 2001, and non of them have had a magnet not stick to them. Genuine cats, the magnet dosn't stick to the insides.

Not worth as much, no. The genuine cat will have a higher quantity of precious metals as they are designed to last longer than any of the aftermarket stuff is.

You said they 'don't have platinum' in though, that's not true.

Think the industry probably is in no rush to tell people about type approval and OE specs.

A copy for a pre-2001 car will be ceramic, that's why they're worth nothing, not because they're not genuine GM.

Completely depends on the make and model and what it is made of.

I took one from a 2.0 Ulysse and got £55.
