Thats the cheap catch tank.....put breather pipe in to sprite bottle and drill holes to let gases out or t-piece it like adam has above.....the oil and water collects in the bottle and the vapour escapes to the atmosphere....alloy catch tanks are £100..... srite bottles are 80p plus you get a free beverage

The mod stops the oily goo being dumped in the intake.....plus it easy to change the pipe as the filters rmovable......it took 103K miles for mine ot completely gunk up so it aint that big a proplem unless you you have a bigger engine... in which case you use a catch tank to catch the oil and stop it setting in the pipe

yeah...my car juggered like sh1t and it was down tothe breather pipes being nearly bloded up....cleaned the sh1t out and car is much more smoother

wat is it oil mixing in with water in the pipes to produce this yellow substance... but how does water get into the pipes anyway cos i can see the same problem happening with the breather modification above...

is it that coz the mini filter is sucking up warmish air and not air from the outside means that these no condesation building up in the pipes???

As the negine gets older more air gets past the pistion rings and in to the rocker cover. this increases presure and therfore pushes more oil in to the breather pipe. Add to that the fact the condenstaion forms in these pipes during short journeys and you have radiactive yellow oily goo. This emulsifies (sp) and blokes the pipes......this then stops the pressue escaping from the rocker cover causing the car to judder....or so Ive been told

why does this particular pipe get blocked up so much with yellow oily sh1t????

Table leg to block the intake on the manifold.....couldnt find a bolt the right size in the house
£4.75 was for the big brather and the little pipe as well

They mention about brilling the inside of the rocker cover......you dont need to do this on smaller engine...this really only benifits c20xe

It really simple...

New breather pipes from vaux £4.75
PiperCross filter from Ripoff £16.99
Old table leg and cable ties £0.02

Driving a judder free corsa.....priceless

Will try and get pic up showing how it all done....i dont have/need a catchtank like adam so its v.easy
