at least vauxhall told u how much they'd want before they went ahead and did the work! arseholes. Speaking to my dad (barrister) just now, said hes sued this vauxhall dealers before. Looks like they'll be in for another court appearance soon -unless they give in and apologise, !

i told them to GTF and give my money back. On that note - they started walking towards my car and saying they'd return it to how it was when i brought it in, and charge me for doing that as well! i was like - um y on earth would i want to pay you more to return my car to how it was before. so they said = ok we'll do it for free. Fcuking bastards, neva lettin them near my car again. Does anyone know where i could find a more official source of how long it would reasonably take to do the work they carried out?

they charged me £70 claiming to have done an hours work, without even gettin my authority to do it. And they in fact only had the car for 35mins maximum. So how on earth they can claim to have done an hours labour.?

happen to troublesome coz he put his own tints in his car windows (therefore took the front ones out)....days later the driver side just collapes, we took off all the panel and that and manage to get it on...

yes its very hard to get back on the runner and it took a good 20 mins to get it right - baring in mind moving the window carefully trying not to scratch the tints.

£70 is fooking alot for that....rip off bastids

Seems to depend on the garage. I had my local Vauxhall dealer out on 3 test drives, up on the ramps twice checking over bearings, etc, all for free :boggle:

Must be my smile

they should of consulted with you first really shouldnt they?? i once made the mistake of taking my car to vauxhall for a misfire i couldnt cure. cost me nearly 40 quid for him to drive it round the block and run tech 2 on it. then he gave me a quote for £700 to change plugs, leads and d.i.s pac. good job they didnt go ahead with that and give me the bill :!

I tell you that is hard to fix that happened to my car last year spent ages trying to get it back on.
in the end took it to a good little "garage" and got it done for £25. most places wanted at least £50

Vauxhall is normally around £55/hour...

No offense but would probably have been easier to take a look yourself first... doesn't take long to whip off the panels....

my passenger window got stuck half way up. It was clear the angle was wrong i.e. it had coem out of place somehow. So took it to vauxhall, the receptionist bloke said - gotta wait for mike to get bak then i'll tell him to come have a quick look wiv u. So waited, he said it'll be a while longer so i went to the shops. Come back 35mins later my car had gone from where i parked it. I went in said where s my car i need my fone from it. Was taken to my car in the back. Nobody working on it. I said - hasn't anyone looked at it yet. they said yer its all fixed. So went and paid, and they asked me for £70. All they had done was take the door panels off, put the window back onto the runners it had fallen off and then put the panels back on. No new parts or anything. I questioned the price, they said its standrad hourly charge. I pointed out they had done 30mins work at the most. THey gave me a load of shit. I refused to pay, so they said we'll take the car back and return it to how it was before. At that point i put my lawyer (my dad!) onto the phone to them, and he said if they touch my car now he'll get them done for criminal damage. Advised me to pay the money now, and he'd take it up with them 2moz. They offered me a bloody 10% discount in goodwill - that made me mad, goodwill = i told them where to stick that. Fcuking thieves they are, 70quid for 30mins labour. Outrageous charge. They aint gonna get away with this. Just wanted your opinions - i'm not being unreasonable am i? I never authorised them to carry out any work on my car, all i agreed to was that someone would have a look to tell me waht was wrong.
