If you don't own the car yet, buy the one you want. It'll make an older car more difficult to sell when people ask why it needed a whole new front end.

I used to prefer pre-face Vectra C's. Now i can't stand them. Look sooo dated.

Face-lift with XP/VXR front looks much better.

What an absolute waste of time it would be, it's not as if they are in short supply.

I would bin that thought before wasting anymore life on it.

personally i cant understand why you'd want to. pre lift looks soooo much better

Another thing to note - the pre facelift uses gas struts to open the bonnet and the facelift uses a good old trust bonnet stay. Wiring for headlights is different, entire layout of parts located near the headlights is different too. Seriously not worth the hassle. For the money you would have to spend converting it you may as well have just bought a facelifted model

Oh and slam panel doesn't have to be changed

Get on vectra-c loads done of on there and there is a few guides. Tbh tho I prefer the preface lift, mines a pre aswell :)

Well the difference would be if i got a pre it would be a petrol, if i had to save a bit more, i would save for a diesel.. just because..

I would go for the smoked headlights on the post like below.. but all in all it can be done?

prefacelift is better imo

Agree with John tbh, for what it will cost for parts/painting just put that money towards a facelift. I've been looking at these recently too, but I prefer the pre facelift with the smoked lights as you have pictured.

Looking at the front ends, i very much doubt that pre-face slam panel will be the same.

Bonnet, wings, bumper, headlights, crash bar, slam panel. Pretty sure thats all you will need to change.

Mhmmm that's what i was thinking, heard elsewhere the slam panel may still fit too :boggle:

Evening CS..

I've been looking into getting a vectra "c" as the next car for my fingers to play with. Of course there is a pre and post facelift model.. just like with the corsa.

Does anyone know if it is possible, and has been done, to go from a pre to a post shape easily? Obvs a few panels such as bonnet, wings, bumper and lights will have to be changed to achieve it? Only ask is i love the post lights and if i was to get one it would have to have those headlights at some point, with the pre facelight going for a lot cheaper.. this may be a viable option..

Any links to forum builds etc would be great help too but knowledge is the key.
