The company was English, and still has its headquarters in Luton but the majority of production is outside the UK. Only the Astra (Ellesmere Port) and some of the van range (Luton) are built in England.

Ellesmere Port also do a bit of engine construction for other models I think, or at least they used to.

It is owned by GM who are American, who also own Opel who are German, and responsible for a lot of the design. So less English than is historically the case.

Lotus designed most of there engines but are not part of GM

Edit: it appears lotus was once owned by GM

Lotus aren't GM, they're owned by Proton IIRC.

Having an arguement at work and i was saying Vauxhall is british. Am i right? He said there German.

I know Opel is German and Holden is Australian.

Help guys because it's bugging me.

Also all car games,Vauxhall is in either the british or english list.
