I fit em for a living I wouldn't advise doin it yourself an definitely wouldn't use tiger seal go speak to a small local company they will probably fit a new corsa screen for about 80 quid or remove and refit for about 40

done it once on a van, would never do it again, it took me about three hours, took two of us with the wire one inside one outside , then scratched the a pillar , then you have to fuck around getting all old bonding off , cleaning it all etc then new bonding (use sikaflex sikabond if you do decide to do it) just glad it was an old van of mine .

I do it all the time. If you're patient you won't break the glass. As said cheese wire is best.

true i forgot to say take the seal out first and the cheese wire will push through the bond if u use long nose pliers

But to use a cheese wire you have to cut through the bond in the first place to get the wire though, and chances are, the cheese wire will cut through the seal aswell if you dont know what your doing.

I've done it on a few old shells and normally always scratch the pillars and roof, didn't find it easy at all!

For the price and time it would take a pro to do it tho

Removing a screen is rather hard, you need something like a knife or something sharp to cut the glue that its held in with.

imho it is not as hard as it is made out to be. taking your time is most important. mask wents etc, clean the surface well, use good bonding stuff etc.

can a windscreen be fitted by anyone or is it a windscreen specialist only? |
