Just a little update as where i am with this fault finding... i just need some more pointers from anyone with abit more knowledge!

i have repaired the whole injector loom on my car to see about getting these injectors working and there have been slight improvements, injectors 1, 2 and 3 are working but 4 is completely dead. Now i switched the injectors around and they all work....i then double check the continuity of the wires and i have good continuity to all injectors. Also checked the voltage on the pins of injector plug 4 whilst the car is been cranked, and also the voltage of each injector plug working and the voltage matches! So i know there is enough battery power and the problem is now not electrically related!

I noticed that the valve on the end of my fuel rail has a slight leak in it when the black cap has been unscrewed, now i would imaging this would upset the pressure which would relate to why injector 4 is not spraying.....can anyone confirm this? Would it be easier just to change the fuel rail rather than just the valve?

I really want to kind of avoid messing with the ECU and use that as a last resort! And i'm positive all the earths are fine! Its a myth atm!

Lol, feel my pain! I've just had a new headgasket and skim and full head rebuild. And the compression in each cylinder is the same so yeah, i have know idea!!!

What you mean by earth strap mate?

If your meaning is the fuel rail earthed, then yes and all earths are fine buddy, been through that bit! The actual engine starts, it just runs bad!

And Yes engine is timed spot on, its been running, just like a turd and the points are all still spot on. I've got full compression is each cylinder, and sparks in each cylinder. I have fuel in pots 2 and 3 and a shortage of fuel on pot 1 and nothing at all in 4!

I've got brand new crank and cam sensor/coilpack and i don't think that would effect injectors mate!

I'm confused :(

Sorry just read you have replaced the crank sensor.

Weird one, if two fuel rails are doing the same thing I would try and get hold of another ECU, are you sure the engine is timed up properly as well?

I had similar issues with my C16XE mis-firing constantly, have you checked the crankshaft sensor as mine had started to break down causing a misfire.

Not sure that would effect the injectors though.

Yes mate, i've checked the injector loom and sorted all frail and broken wires and tested continuity in ALL wires from the injectors to ECU and EVERY wire HAS continuity so connections are good!!

If it was an ECU issue, would it not come up on the paper clip test? The fault codes for ECU problems are as follows:

49 Battery supply to Engine Control Unit (ECU)
51 Engine Control Unit (ECU)
55 Engine Control Unit (ECU) fault

I get none of them, just 12 which indicates initiation of diagnosis.

Just checked fuel rail and its free of all blockages and i did another paper clip test looking for number 55 which would indicate an ECU problem but nothing....

I thought if my fuel rail was bust, it wouldn't pressurise? Plus without the injectors in the fuel rail seems to have no blockages etc...

new fuel rail then

Hey, i need some help here because I'm really starting to get fed up!

Right, long story short...i rebuilt my engine, tensioner went, popped all my valves, sorted that, timed up the engine again, it works...but is misfiring badly! In fact cylinder 1 is half working and cylinder 4 isn't at all! Now I've check compression and spark and its fine, i have a new coil pack/crank and cam sensor now.

I then checked the fuel side of things. The fuel rail IS pressurising but injector 1 was half spraying and injector 4 wasn't spraying. I bought some new injectors off Archie on here (top lad) and tried those, i get exactly the same problem. So i switched the injectors around knowing that the injectors from pots 2 and 3 are working and then i get the same problem! So as far as i know, all the injectors are working.

I then went to check the electrical side of things, on the little bit of loom that connects to each individual injector there is full continuity between all pins in the plugs which are meant to be connected, so nothing is shorting etc. etc. I think checked continuity from the injector plug all the way down to the plug at the ECU and there IS continuity there too...I'm not persuaded to think its an ECU issue, am i correct? Also just to mention, as I'm doing an electrical engineering degree i had the confidence to check continuity on some of the pins inside of the ECU and they are also fine, although I'm not experienced enough to check any of the chips and i don't have the equipment either....

I checked on Top buzz and the Corsa GSi 16v (1993) shares the same ECU as the X14XE which is the GM-Multec S - now could i use this ECU from the X14 or does it have to be the ECU from a C16 which i use?

Am i completely missing something here or is what I've done the correct procedure? Will appreciate any help!! Sorry for the essay in advance!!
